This piece explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and Afrofuturism. With rapid technological advancements shaping our world, I wanted to imagine a future in which humanity and technology coexist, walking hand in hand rather than in opposition. The male subject represents AI personified: a vision of technology given form, presence, and emotion.

In creating this work, I studied mirrors and reflective surfaces, questioning how paint can emulate reflection. I discovered that achieving a mirrored quality goes beyond tonal contrast; it relies on layering, subtle shifts in hue, and precise attention to fine details. Through this process, I aimed to capture the gleam and texture of metal, so the painting itself feels almost reflective.

The colour palette evokes a stormy, dreamlike atmosphere.
